neurosciences?

This is for you!

Three positions will be open starting from September 2024 focusing on cutting-edge research in molecular neuroscience, computational biology, and clinical translation.

IWe are looking for candidates at various levels of experience, spanning from post-graduate fellows to post-doctoral researchers.

If you’re interested, please contact us!

Our goal is the development and validation of novel therapeutic approaches and pharmacodynamic biomarkers for Motor Neuron Diseases.

in the framework of a project funded by the Department of Defense (ALS Therapeutic Award – Biomarker Option), we aim to validate a novel molecular target that could enable: i) fine-tuning of neuroinflammatory and neuroprotective responses, and ii) assessment of a peripherally accessible biomarker as a potential indicator of disease severity or response to treatment.

While the primary site of work will be the University of Pavia, we are also recruiting at partner institutions such as the IRCCS Carlo Besta Institute in Milan and the Harvard Medical School/Boston Children’s Hospital in Boston, MA, USA. Regardless of the hiring location, candidates will have the chance to travel between these three institutions.

POSITIONS IN DETAILS:

Job descriptions.

The candidates will employ state-of-the-art molecular and computational approaches to investigate epigenomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic alterations at the single-cell level, elucidating the region-specific engagement of neurodegenerative and neuroinflammatory processes in various areas of the Central and Peripheral Nervous System in animal models of ALS and ALS-FTD. Additionally, a proof-of-concept efficacy study will be conducted at the preclinical level in SOD1 and C9Orf72 animal models to validate a novel potential therapeutic approach for ALS.
